Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- @Hameltion, is this a word or a prefix? [1] – robertsky (talk) 03:40, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Robertsky: My idea was that the dab lists many uses that aren't all caps, chief among them Mal (name). Hameltion (talk | contribs) 04:22, 25 February 2024 (UTC)

- University of the Philippines Tacloban College (currently a redirect to University of the Philippines Tacloban) → University of the Philippines Tacloban (move · discuss) – New official name (reference: https://up.edu.ph/constituent-universities/) Polo (talk) 03:29, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- Sherbrooke Fusiliers Regiment (currently a redirect to Sherbrooke Fusilier Regiment) → Sherbrooke Fusilier Regiment (move · discuss) – the plural form was only used briefly. For some reason both forms of name were redirected to a later unit, rather than request a Technical Move GraemeLeggett (talk) 11:00, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- We should probably dabify Sherbrooke Fusiliers, this is confusing. 162 etc. (talk) 16:58, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- Croatian Glagolitic (currently a redirect to Angular Glagolitic) → Angular Glagolitic (move · discuss) – "Croatian Glagolitic" usually does refer to Angular Glagolitic in palaeographic usage but as such "Croatian Glagolitic" is only a nationally popular term because the script form was used by multiple ethnicities including notably the Slovenes among whom it seems to have developed, and too broad because it also encompasses non-angular cursive forms, which are not the subject of the article. - Adjarabet Arena → Batumi Stadium (currently a redirect back to Adjarabet Arena) (move · discuss) – Per WP:COMMONNAME, move from temporary sponsored name Abcmaxx (talk) 08:36, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Citation needed. 162 etc. (talk) 18:56, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Tabal → Tabal (state) (move · discuss) – "Tabal" was the name of both a region and a state, and the page on the state needs to be renamed to avoid confusion. Antiquistik (talk) 18:53, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- What's the name of the page for the region? Bensci54 (talk) 19:56, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Bensci54: The name for the page for the region is Tabal (region). Antiquistik (talk) 18:29, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- Tabal (region) is just a redirect to Tabal. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:51, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Bensci54 and BarrelProof: another user created the redirect. However, I need the present content of Tabal to be moved to Tabal (state) before I can rewrite both pages so there won't be any confusion between the region and the state. Antiquistik (talk) 20:07, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- It would probably be best to first establish a consensus for your proposed WP:content fork in a discussion before preemptively renaming the current article, or to develop a second article in the Wikipedia WP:Draft space. Also, the existence of two articles can often be sufficiently addressed by a WP:TWODABS approach without needing to add a disambiguation qualifier to both titles. — BarrelProof (talk) 20:20, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof: is WP:content fork really the appropriate channel for this when Tabal the region and Tabal the state are different topics whose main relation consists of the state being located in the region without being identical to each other? Antiquistik (talk) 10:49, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

- Kaminski Brigade (currently a redirect to Russian People's Liberation Army) → SS Sturmbrigade RONA (currently a redirect instead to Russian People's Liberation Army) (move · discuss) – The article was moved without discussion from a name previously approved through a RM discussion. "Kaminski Brigade" does not appear to even be used in the current article's lead. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:45, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Piotrus: Please start an WP:RM per WP:TITLECHANGES it has been at this this title for almost three years. Lightoil (talk) 04:45, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- 2022 Guamanian gubernatorial election → 2022 Guam gubernatorial election (currently a redirect back to 2022 Guamanian gubernatorial election) (move · discuss) – in most/all US election pages the name of the state/territory is used rather than an adjective e.g. Illinois but not Illinoisan Nevermore27 (talk) 17:01, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- The current name is consistent with all other Guam election articles. Bensci54 (talk) 17:26, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- Ergonomics → Human Factors (currently a redirect back to Ergonomics) (move · discuss) – Ergonomics and Human Factors are not interchangeable terms in the US. Internationally they are sometimes used interchangeably in conversation but not when being applied. Ergonomics primarily addresses the body's interactions with the environment, whereas Human Factors addresses the mind's interactions. The distinction is important, so as not confuse those looking to learn more about each field. HFanatic (talk) 15:27, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
- This was moved to its currently location on an RM only a month ago. A move will require an RM. Bensci54 (talk) 17:33, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
- If you're looking to make an article for Ergonomics and another for Human factors, as you say they are not the same, then WP:SPLIT is the procedure, not WP:RMT. 162 etc. (talk) 22:48, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

- Askari Amusement Park (currently a redirect to Kashmir Park) → Kashmir Park (move · discuss) – Revert sock move War Wounded (talk) 09:45, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- The current title seems to be the stable one here. The sock actually reverted a different undiscussed move. Bensci54 (talk) 23:52, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- Syed Tasawar Jawadi → Allama Syed Tasawar Jawadi (currently a redirect back to Syed Tasawar Jawadi) (move · discuss) – Revert sock move War Wounded (talk) 09:45, 24 February 2024 (UTC)
- The sock had this one correct, too. Wikipedia does not use honorifics in page titles, generally speaking. Bensci54 (talk) 01:09, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
