I am out of town this weekend (19 Aug - 22 August) and celebrating my birthday, and will not be able to access Wikipedia. I start college on the 29th, so my edits will probably decline as then as well. Take care, D. J. Bracey (talk) 04:37, 20 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to my Talk Page.

Note: I usually will hunt you down to leave a message, but sometimes I'll get lazy and leave it here. - D. J. Bracey (talk) 11:58, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Also: Please leave me a message here not after a note on someone else's talk page. I probably will go back to your talk page; but most likely not. My computer is pretty crappy, and I can't download all those pages. Here please. (I do the same for everybody else) D. J. Bracey (talk) 00:52, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Do not place vandalism on this site!

As I have stated because an anon user vandalized my page. This page has been recently vandalized by this asshole who decided to call me "nigger."

Cirrusism

From the sounds of your comments on the VfD, I'm not sure you're understanding why people want to delete the article. It's not about being open or closed minded, it's all about verifiability, and this topic appears to have none. Friday (talk) 22:07, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the barnstar

I'm not really a deletionist, though, as least as far as I understand the term. Can you explain why you feel the need to leave Wikipedia? Zoe 22:49, August 11, 2005 (UTC)

I have delt with entirely too much here, and I am making a countdown now. D. J. Bracey (talk) 22:50, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Xizer's behavior is out of line, and he's been reported on WP:ANI. I've warned him about his conduct, and will be keeping an eye on him. Your anger is completely understandable, and, although I'm just one person, I apologize to you for his disgusting behavior. Zoe 23:24, August 11, 2005 (UTC)

On being called "nigger"

Sh*t. Take a number and get in line. You wanna see some examples of blatant racism on this website? Check my dispute with User:Wareware -- or the images on my talk page.

So, some racist asswipe called you the n-word. Boo-hoo. Well, if that's all it takes for you to give up and take your marbles and go home, get ready for a lifetime of quitting.

If you're on Wikipedia to be recognized, flattered, liked, rewarded you should ask yourself why it's so important to you. What does it really matter? Isn't imparting information enough? Why are you so eager/hungry for the approval of others?

Some advice: Don't ever, ever, EVER look for validation in the eyes of the enemy. Don't ever let someone else's problem become your own. "Allow no evil to pass through you."

Self-love is all that matters. It's how we got ovuh. It's called "mental toughness," youngblood.

Get some. Otherwise, you're lost. Peace 2 u. deeceevoice 23:25, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No, that is not the only reason I have stopped editing here. First of all, its a waste of time. I have definitely wasted too much time on this site to receive such little recognition. Secondly, that wasn't the first time that some one called me some sh*t like that, but I refuse to be called something like that, and take crap from some craptastic encyclopedia I edit for free. Third, I need to use this extra time for college, and now, I have books, classes, registration etc. to worry about. I am not asking for anyone's sympathy...I just feel it is a lost cause here. There are plenty of other reasons why I left, mostly because it took much way more time than I thought it would, and it has lead to disaster. I happily cussed that asshole out. Thanks, deeceevoice, D. J. Bracey 23:31, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome, that kind of stuff has absolutely no business on Wikiepdia, or anywhere else for that matter. I understand how Wikipedia can take up your time, too.  :) Zoe 23:41, August 11, 2005 (UTC)

About "taking" sh*t on Wikipedia
(chuckling) Well, youngblood, I guess it all depends on how you look at it. I don't "take" anything. If some inbred, half-wit, racist mental cretin wants to sling insults, I have no control over that. Besides, it does nothing but reflect on him (or her). I am not harmed by it. Hell, I'm not even personally fazed by it. I'm old-school, and I've seen all kinds of sh*t in my life, heard it, been exposed to it. I don't "take"/accept it; it's not about me. A "nigger" ain't nothin' but a figment of some soul-sick being's imagination, a projection, a phantasm. It's got nothin' to do with me or my people; I know who I am and where I come from. I've been black all my life, and I've never met a nigger yet.
I protest such usage because I regard it as an affront to my people, my noble ancestors. But do I accept it as a personal insult? Do I let it wound me? Affect my equilibrium? Do I internalize it? Do I even respond, as you have, stooping to their level and return it with a racial slur? Hell, naw!
That is weakness -- and stooping to their level betrays the legacy of struggle and overcoming bequeathed to us by our Ancestors.
I'm here, as my user page says, to do what I do. And no one and no thing is gonna change that. I'm here until EYE decide to leave; no one's gonna run me off or piss me off to the point that I lose my focus.
Our people got through slavery, for God's sake. They were whipped 'til the flesh fell from their bodies; had their families sold away from them; survived the cruelest and most barbaric treatment imaginable; lived wretched, dehumanizing existences. And what? So, you let some sh*t like the n-word take you over the edge? Nigguh, pleeze! (No, I don't use that word usually -- but it's entirely appropriate here. You know how I mean it. Ironic -- isn't it? :p)
Peace 2 u, my bright, beautiful, young black brother. deeceevoice 23:52, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again, I had decided to leave before this anyway. It has been taking up some time, and no, I didn't let that one idiot get me off the site, its been plenty of crap since, well, I've been here. And still, its mostly becuase it took up too much time.D. J. Bracey 23:58, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'll come back, as soon as this crap cools off. .D. J. Bracey 23:59, 11 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Do whatever you feel moved to do. But if you ever decide to leave, know that a few people will miss you -- for about that long. And then they'll forget you. Stick around, and your contributions and your influence may outlast your years on this plane. That's the power of words, my friend.
Take a breather. Tend to your studies; they're important. (You gotta handle ya bizness.) Do whatever internal work you need to do to find your Center (SPIRIT is one bad-ass muthafucka. :p). When you're ready, whenever you have time, come back, roll up your sleeves and begin again. 'S what we do. We keep on keepin' on. Bruh, let's do this thang! :D Peace 2 u. deeceevoice 00:16, 12 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

While I welcome you back to Wikipedia, I cannot accept this Purple Heart you gave me. Please try to find another award that I could accept, please. Hello! *wave*

Just wanted to say thanks for the welcome message.

Bye, Flamewise 21:51, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

disagree

i resent the fact that you call MY article on Lord Byron's poem 'Augusta' vandalism - how can i vandalize my OWN article? And for the record, no i will not be coming back here. I have already recieved abuse and been bombarded with ignorance and idiocy and i've only just joined.

I am very sorry if you have been upset by edits made by me and Ben-w, however, we were only trying to condone/uphold a standard in Wikipedia. You have no reason to blank my user page, as I even defended facts on the "Daddy" article. Please do not do this again. I hope you will not remain angry. D. J. Bracey (talk) 23:58, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

if you do not deface and delete any more of my articles, then i will not remain angry.

I did not deface any of your articles, I had only reverted the information you posted on Augusta becuase it was not appropriate. The article had its own information posted, and you had reverted it and replaced it with a completely different topic. Create an article on this instead of reverting another one. The action was, in fact, a form of vandalism, as you wrongly reverted info. Take care, D. J. Bracey (talk) 00:04, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have talked with this particular user about her edits. She had gotten angry with me after I reverted this [2] and after I explained that this was against Wikipedia policy. She then erased my welcome message and comments, and had blanked my user page [3], when I had only been trying to help her. Please do not think that she was completely in the right here, I have tried to be very kind to new users on this site. I only suggested that she had inadvertantly commited an act of vandalism; and I suggested, as you had, that the article in question be redirected or merged. Take care, D. J. Bracey (talk) 19:59, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your exchange with the user before I left my own message. I had second thoughts about even leaving a message at that point, but I decided to take a chance and threw caution to the wind. -- DS1953 21:32, August 17, 2005 (UTC)
I'll move this to my talk page under what she had posted. D. J. Bracey (talk) 00:38, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thank YOU. You took the heat and I skated by (so far, anyway). DS1953 16:55, August 18, 2005 (UTC)

Re: admin?

Hiya. No, I'm not an admin. Thanks for the offer of a nomination. My first edit, however, was only on 2nd June so I didn't clear 3 months here yet. Since the wording at the top of the RfA page imbues '3 months' with a certain magical quality (and at least several RfA regulars consider it insufficient anyway), there'd probably be a better chance of success if the nomination were held back for, say, a month. But thank you for the offer — I'm honoured that you'd think of me. -Splash 16:06, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Adminship

D.J.: Thank you for supporting my nomination for adminship. I received many votes from editors that I encounter frequently, which is re-assuring, but I am honoured that you and others that I don't know through Wikipedia saw fit to support the nomination. The admin powers will enable me to patrol for vandals more effectively, amongst other things. I promise to use my new powers for good, and not to inflict the retribution on my enemies that they so richly deserve, as tempting as that may be. ;-) Thanks again, Kevin. arbitration

DreamGuy is up for arbitration, for incivillity, nd all around bad behaviour, feel free to add evidance to it as you see fit. thanks!Gavin the Chosen 13:59, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

If by "up for arbitration" you mean Gabriel/Gavin trying to once again file another false report. He tried this on one of his sockpuppet accounts also. He has to let it go before they block him permanently (he's already up for a month block as it is in his actual accepted arbitration, and they will increase it the worse he gets).
