Olympian Demeter
[edit]Wiki:Even more confusingly, Demeter was worshipped alongside of Persephone with identical rites, and yet was occasionally classified as an "Olympian" in poetry and myth.
Occasionaly? Demeter is one of the 12 olympian gods.

Problems with newly-added sources
[edit]I greatly appreciate all the work that people have been doing today for this article, but I have a problem with a few of the sources that have recently been added. For one thing, as far as I am aware, theoi.com and mythology.stackexchange.com are not considered reliable sources, which is the reason why I did not add them as sources myself. (The citation to the British Museum website--ancientgreece.co.uk-- is probably fine.) I will not delete the new citations you added, but it would be better to replace them with citations to reputable scholarly sources. --Katolophyromai (talk) 01:24, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
- Theoi I know nothing about but Stack Exchange references can be removed right away. CapnZapp (talk) 10:21, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
Other Deities
[edit]Out of interest, would other death deities from different mythologies also be considered Chthonic such as Osiris from Egyptian mythology or Hel from Norse mythology? If so then it should probably be addressed. (Tyrian Watts (talk) 07:09, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
