User talk:Beyondism
Beyondism is a philosophical position established by RAYMOND B. CATTELL. Starting from the premise that evolution is the fundamental process present in the universe, he explains that human evolution is governed by natural selection among groups, which in turn, is based upon genetic and cultural selection among individuals. Since natural selection of individuals is directed toward forming a viable group, the genetic and cultural shaping of individuals must fit the survival conditions of the group. The goal of Beyondism is to find these ethical and cultural conditions that are necessary for successful evolutionary adaptation and advancement.
- Yes, but if that isn't something that is of lasting significance in philosophy, something that other philosophers discuss in independent philosophy journals, then it doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability requirements. If you are Raymond Cattell, I think it's only fair to warn you that Wikipedia editors take a rather negative view of people who try to use the encyclopedia to promote their work; I'll help you avoid that negative impression by removing the apparent promotional material from your user page. If you're interested in staying at Wikipedia as a volunteer encyclopedia-writer, we're happy to have you, of course- we can always use good help. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:35, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
