Talk to me, Andy Mabbett

[edit]
  • If you post a message on this page, I'll reply on this page to avoid fragmenting the discussion.
  • If I've left you a message on your talk page, I will be watching it, so please reply there rather than here (but do feel free to drop a copy of {{Talkback}} here).
  • If appropriate, I will move discussion from here to the relevant article's talk page, so that anyone interested can join in.
  • If you want to start a new discussion thread, please start it at the bottom of the page. Better still, use the "new section" tab next to the "edit this page" tab, or the link at the foot of this section, either of which will do that automatically.
  • Please do not make links from within section headings.
  • Inaccessible HTML (coloured text, "small" tags, etc.) will be removed from this page on sight. Broken heading or list structures will be fixed.
  • Please sign and date your entries by inserting four tildes (~~~~) at the end.
  • Start a new discussion.

Revisions to Cell 16 page and Mary Ann Weathers page

[edit]

Hi Andy,

I attempted once again on October 5 to make revisions to both pages mentioned in the subject line.

I am trying to add on the Mary Ann Weathers page in external links, that the article, "An Argument for Black Women's Liberation as a Revolutionary Force" is also available in my book, "Inside the Second Wave of Feminism." I clicked "edit source" and added this information and then clicked "publish changes." But nothing has appeared. Please advise.

Also revised the same thing on the Cell 16 page under "Further reading" that the above mentioned article by Weathers is also available in my book.

Thanks for any help. Liberationfemale (talk) 14:59, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am stumped, especially as you can make edits here.
There are a few things you could try:
* Make only a very small edit to the article (just one or two words; no links to anything)
* Log out and make a small edit to the article
* Log in on another machine and make a small edit
Let me know which of those work. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:16, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't appear that either works. OMG!
I tried to add that Weathers was also a member of Boston Female Liberation. I clicked on "edit source" and then added this. Was that correct? I did it both on a laptop and then on a desktop and neither registered the change.
Thanks for your help. Liberationfemale (talk) 15:55, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In each case, did you enter an "edit summary"? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:17, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! And, I just did that again. Liberationfemale (talk) 16:23, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can only suggest two things; if you are in a big city or near a university and there are local Wikipedia meetups, take your laptop and show someone. Or ask at WP:VPT. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:07, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Andy. Turns out there is a meetup that I will be attending later this month. Liberationfemale (talk) 19:16, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for improving articles on October! - My story today is a cantata 300 years old, based on a hymn 200 years old when the cantata was composed, based on a psalm some thousand years old, - so said the 2015 DYK hook. I had forgotten the discussion on the talk. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:54, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, this article has been hijacked, see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Japansonglove for the long history of article hijacking. The new accounts should be reported to the above sock puppet report.

I'm not sure what the original page was? Disambiguation page. Hope this helps. Knitsey (talk) 13:23, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No, it hasn't. It is a fork from the (or one of the) hijacked article (William Joseph Williams), in order to provide a home for the material added by the hijacker. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:35, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oph, how is that done? Knitsey (talk) 13:38, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
