Help me please.

Hey Stwalkerster, just wondering if you could give me a hand... my brother is in trouble, username hahahahahahahahahahaha, vandalising and he's blocking up our IP. He cant edit so he asked me if you could find some way to delete his account, he's sorry for the way he acted. And could you please reply to this on my talk page.

Thanks a million,

Richards Harmer "Dix" Jarden

The page I wrote has disappeared. Can you help me understand why? Doesn't appear under My Contributions.

Thanks.

Hi! It appears that the article has been deleted: You can see the entry in the deletion log here if you wish. You might be better contacting the administrator who acutally deleted the article, which can be found in the deletion log. I hope this helps, Stwalkerstertalk ] 13:02, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your quick response. I did contact the administrator who deleted it, but haven't gotten a response yet - he seems to be in Australia - don't know what time it is there. He's a military History person - so I assume that my notes about WWII are the problem. In my message I told him I would be happy to revise that part - I'm not claiming military significance, it's just a factual part of the overall story. Isn't there a way to indicate facts - i.e. Captain in the 154Th Engineers in the Palau Islands in WW II - without trying to claim that they have military significance?

Northern Middlesex High School vandalism

Wow.... that's just....wow. That's just ridiculous. Good job with the reverts, keep on it. --Amaraiel (talk) 14:11, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Of late too many vandalization attempts were made on this page. Today, it is reaching a new extreme. Can something be done on this? Is it possible to block all users who uses ipaddress and not usernames? Just a thought! Does it make sense to keep the page protected for now? Thanks.GDibyendu (talk) 18:42, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Sure - file a request at WP:RFPP for semi-protection, and an admin (experienced in protection) will review your request, and likely protect the page. Stwalkerstertalk ] 19:53, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I have just noticed that Jason Oakes, a professional rugby union player, playing in the elite English competition has been deleted. This would imply significance of the article as covered under Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Athletes. I have not imbued the article with hyperbole as to do so would be detracting from a neutral stance. Can I please request the article be re-instated.Londo06 22:35, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Also Andy Perry has fallen by the wayside, could I also request this article be re-instated.Londo06 22:37, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
My advice would be to make the notability clearer. (restoration in progress...) Stwalkerstertalk ] 22:41, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Many thanks for the restoration. I have spoken to other admin about this and they have said that the wording used by myself is fine as it is a tacit acknowledgment that they are a professional player in an elite competition, with a link to verify that fact. I open to suggestions on the wording, but I added the articles with a neutral stance and am unsure about how to add a standard article without imbuing a status that is not theirs to lay claim to.Londo06 22:50, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
I think the best thing would be to flesh out the articles with details of their former clubs, national allegiance, etc. Will work to do that at some point in the future.Londo06 22:58, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Glad I could help in this issue, and I apologise for deleting them in the first place. I'm new to this adminship thing :P Stwalkerstertalk ] 23:00, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
No problem, I can easily understand, it is only a two line article. Many thanks for the reinstatement.Londo06 23:01, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Sorry Stwalkerster - I got a bit carried away :-) - it just really bugged me, we were removed yesterday for copyright infringemant which seems like an excuse when we own the copyright of our own material.

I deleted that article because it was an article about a real person that did not indicate why its subject is important or significant. Stwalkerstertalk ] 19:05, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

You need to make the article follow WP:N, WP:BLP, , and preferably WP:BETTER, and WP:MOS, among other things. I think those are the most important issues in this case. It might also help to have a read of WP:NOT, and WP:V, and also WP:AUTO. Stwalkerstertalk ] 20:15, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

This is a reply to message you left on my talk page.

I put up two links to self-published articles unaware of the policy against them. My posting privileges were suspended and the links were taken down. I have no problem with that. Rules is rules. The problem is that every link I've ever posted to Wikipedia has been taken down too, links that WEREN'T self published, links that broke no rules.

Now that I've regained my posting privileges, how do I get the old links back? Would it be proper for me to undo the deletes?

Noahveil (talk) 16:07, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

You were involved with an article of mine recently so I figure you'd be a good person to ask. What happens if a major contributor to a University club article deemed as non-notable by others per an AfD goes to Internet forums and message boards of said subject and tries to "throw" the vote? Isn't this against Wikipedia policy?

Here's what I'm talking about: http://pittsburgh.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=538&mid=113090765&sid=996&tid=113090765&style=1

Question. When I come across a speedy for a middle school or elementary school, I of course remove it--but I usually put on a prod or a merge tag unless there's something special. I see you dont often do that--am I perhaps being too aggressive or are you? DGG (talk) 02:24, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

NCTSA

I am wondering why you deleted the NCTSA page. I know your reasons are that it is not a large enough TSA chapter but NCTSA has over 60 chapters and many members. I also question your authority to make a decision on the matter. Do you even know what TSA is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.65.204.244 (talk) 02:57, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

I deleted that page because it had been underr WP:PROD for 5 days - if you wanted to contest the deletion, you should have done so in that time. You might want to take it to WP:DRV. Stwalkerstertalk ] 09:04, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I was just patrolling the Charlotte page and I have done a lot of work to that particular page. I noticed that you deleted my sub page and then renamed it. I would appreciate that if an action like that needs to take place that you or someone else fix the link that points to the new appointed page. As I looked at it, it was turned into a red link. I have now changed the link and directed it to the right page. I think one needs to be careful to do a complete follow thru. I appreciate it. Canyouhearmenow 22:55, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Rollback

Hello Stwalkerster, I heard you were an admin and I'd like to ask you for rollback. I've been doing a bit of anti-vandal work wit Lupin's anti vandal tool but I keep getting edit conflicts when I save, and I heard this does it automatically, so I won't get them in future. Thanks :-)--Jaeger123 (talk) 18:15, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

It doesn't prevent edit conflicts, but tends to be faster, so you won't get them as often, or you'll be making everyone else get edit conflicts. Done. Stwalkerstertalk ] 19:29, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

I am a bit upset to see you have deleted Tom Welch's page supposedly because he is a "non-notable footballer". This is really in no way a reflection of the truth. Any chance you can put it back again please ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.224.126.8 (talk) 21:28, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

The article was proposed for deletion for 5 days, you could have contested the deletioin during that period. Feel free to take it to WP:DRV, or if you can provide a good reason as to why the article should be undeleted, just give me a reply here. :) Stwalkerstertalk ] 17:44, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

New pages

Sorry, it's me again... I was just wondering, I'm looking at the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:REQUEST, as I'm trying to request for a new page to be added... =S it doesn't fit into any of the categories though, but I've found another page on wikipedia which is on a similar subject... any help? As you have a user account, you can create a page yourself. :) Just type the article's title into the search box, and click Go. If the page exists, it will take you to it automatically. If not, it will offer you a link to create the page. You just need to click the link, and start typing. Stwalkerstertalk ] 19:37, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Only problem with doing that is that I'm not sure that I've quite got the skills to start it, and I'm not sure what to start with (it would be my first page, and so on and so forth)... =P —Preceding unsigned comment added by 05hepburn3 (talkcontribs) 19:40, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism only account

Hi. Regarding this], I was just about to warn the user and then inform the person who posted at AIV that the vandalism was nothing out of the ordinary, and that the user would be warned as usual. However, I see that you have blocked the account as a vandalism only account. I am concerned by this. Almost every vandal vandalises in their first few edits, this doesn't mean that they should be blocked as a vandalism only account and, again, the vandalism here was not even extreme. I would appreciate it if you could review this decision. Thanks TigerShark (talk) 17:19, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

revised deleted article

Hello.

Thank you for taking the time to read my article about Truman Gillet. I had included him on the Granby, CT page under "notable" residents and then wrote an article about him (both were deleted). A picture of his home was also added to the saltbox page, which remains. I feel an article about him is a postive contribution because he plays a part in the past and present of Granby, CT. His family was in Granby prior to the Civil War and Truman lived there until 1873. The saltbox home he built in 1805 still stands today and is a great place for visitors to learn about Granby, CT history. It's a fascinating place. His contribution to Granby would be constructing a home that still stands today and is a valued part of the community as well as an educational resource for historians and architects worldwide. He also owned a great deal of land which he preserved.

I hope you agree that an article about him would be of value as a link from the Granby, CT. page.

Thank you very much for your time!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eresearcher (talkcontribs) 19:18, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

BIASED TREATMENT

Well the page Uzezi Mokedi was removed unfairly and unjustly. At no point did you verify at the Nigerian Military School, Zaria, Kaduna that graduation Marching Parade is called "Passing Out Parade." But instead, you let your bias on your "English non-nigerian military vocabulary" and western understanding of passing out (fainting) affect your judgement. Terminologies from culture to culture contrasts even within exactly similar words. Unfair, Unfair, Unfair. Everything that was written could have been verified. Go to the Nigerian Military School website and verify that Uzezi Mokedi is a true graduate of the school. Call Wright State University and they will tell you Uzezi went to school there and was the Vice President of the Economics CLub in 2002. Everything I wrote can be verified if you chose to be unbiased and to search within the unknown information you don't have, for the answers; information is Key. Isn't that the ideology behind wikipedia. Or is wiki just a facade of biases perpetrating honest information.

After you verify all that was written about Uzezi Mokedi, then you will do the just thing and place the profile on here.

83.229.91.32 (talk) 20:41, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

That article was proposed for deletion for 5 days, with the reason: "self-promotional, non-notable (although I was amused by the part about passing out during a parade)". I simply deleted the page.
