Etymology

Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘭𑘰𑘠𑘜𑘹 (sādhaṇe), from Sanskrit साध्नोति (sādhnoti, to accomplish). Cognate with Gujarati સાધવું (sādhvũ), Hindustani سَادْھنَا (sādhnā) / साधना (sādhnā), Sindhi ساڌَڻُ / साधणु, Punjabi ਸਾਧਣਾ (sādhṇā) / سادھݨا (sādhṇā), Bengali সাধা (śadha).
