For possible cognates, see Turkish burcu (aroma, scent), Turkish buram buram (in whirls, billowing (of smell, smoke)), Karakhanid [script needed] (burïɣ, something that smells), Kyrgyz [script needed] (bura-, to reek strongly), Uyghur پۇراق (puraq, smell), Khakas [script needed] (puru-, to emit a stench, to burn (of food)) et cetera (Dybo, 2013).
