[edit]From Proto-Polynesian *haŋafulu (compare with Hawaiian anahulu (“period of ten days”), Maori ngahuru (“ten”), Tongan hongofulu), from Proto-Oceanic (compare with Fijian sagavulu), from Proto-Malayo-Polynesian *puluq (compare with Malay puluh (“-ty”) and sepuluh (“ten”), Tagalog sampulo (“ten”)), from Proto-Austronesian *puluq.[1]
