Etymology

Semantic shift from Japanese 朝(あさ)風(ぶ)呂(ろ) (asaburo, “morning bath”), which are usually a luxury taken at an onsen, and were seen as a sign of laziness typical of the unemployed during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan.
