  1. A village in Dumfries and Galloway council area, Scotland, some distance north of Dumfries (OS grid ref NX9889).

Usage notes

Believed to be the shortest place name in Britain, the name was taken from the Water of Ae, the river nearby. The village dates from 1947, and was built by the Forestry Commission.
