[edit]This sign uses the same handshape as all ASL possessives, e.g. FlatB@Chest-PalmBack (“my, mine”), and FlatB@Chesthigh-FingerUp RoundHoriz (“their”). Its location and orientation index the referent (the possessor).
Production
[edit]- This one-handed ASL sign is produced as follows:
- Posture the dominant hand in the “flat B” handshape about half an arm’s length in front of the chest, extended finger(s) of the dominant hand pointing up. The palm faces the literal or figurative location of the referent (the possessor).
