Langs in the Dutch language

[edit]

In the Dutch language, "langs" either means a motion ("Zij lopen langs elkaar.") or "along the entire length" ("Er staan bomen langs de weg."). Sometimes "langs" is used as a synonym for "naast", however, this is not typical in dutch. This only occurs in some of the southern provinces, such as Limburg or Brabant. Therefore, "Het bed staat langs de muur." should not be used as an example. Consider http://www.woorden.org/woord/langs . 213.93.216.215 13:16, 11 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

If it's used in Dutch then it is Dutch, even if it's not used in every part of the Netherlands. A context tag should be used to clarify that, but since it is used, it's not wrong. —CodeCat 14:25, 11 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
