[edit]From Middle Low German angan or German angehen. Cognate with Norwegian Bokmål angå, Danish angå and Dutch aangaan. Equivalent to an- + gå.

The recommendations apply primarily to governmental texts; they may or may not apply to other legal prose.
- The separated verb gå an has a different meaning.
