Because, weapons design was one of awarded categories in "Evil West" video game, I wanna share with you my own contribution in this case :). Here's my take on some of the "Mysterious Artifacts" that could be found in King Anheg's study from "Belgariad the Pawn of Prophecy". I tried to approach this from the perspective of items that a player would be able to purchase or find in the room that would need to be identified before (safe) use.
