Thanks @provenwinners for pointing that out. **** Full credit to this tip goes to @dswirk who shared this GENIUS idea on @plant_nerd_podcast I tested it out this year in the garden and now that we’ve had a hard storm — I am happy to report that it WORKED. A couple of things to note: 1) pruning this way will delay your limelight hydrangea blooms — which means you have to be atleast a somewhat patient gardener Also: 2) it’s shedding season, so expect dog hair on my clothes for the time being — I can’t seem to make it through the day without dog hair 😝 Hope you try this tip — this is definitely how I’m going to be pruning my limelight hydrangeas from now on 👌 #hydrangeas #hydrangeatips #floppyhydrangeas #hydrangeaseason #hydrangeaflower #provenwinners | Michelle 🌱 GardensandChickens🐓 Gardener | plant nerd

Budeme potřebovat • hrneček • provaz • dřívko / větvička • kokosový olej • slunečnicová semínka 🚫DO NOT repost our videos. Thank you❗️🚫 🇬🇧🇬🇧ENG🇬🇧🇬🇧 DIY🧡 Bird feeder from an old mug   It’s freezing and snowing, so we created another bird feeder. We used an old mug and leftover coconut oil we had at home. Heat the coconut oil on low heat. This bird feeder is very simple, even children can make it. Our birds loved it immediately. We will need - cup - rope - twig - coconut oil - sunflower seeds #krmitko #birdfeeder #vogelfutter #birdfeeder #birdfeeders #ptaci #bird #birds #birdwatching #zahrada #vogel #vogels #birdlife #tvorenisdetmi #venkov #venkovskystyl #navod #tutorial #handmade #basteln #bastelideen #diyvideo #diy #diycrafts #homemade #diyprojects #dekoliebe #doityourself | DIY Návody a Domácí Recepty | KreativniTechniky.cz

14K views · 2K reactions | Throwback to when we upgraded to a Vego Garden Arched Trellis! The original trellises had sunk quite a bit after the initial fill (which is normal when using logs at the bottom), so we topped them off with fresh soil, amended it, planted, and added mulch. We used it for Roma tomatoes climbing up one side and passion fruit on the other. With the trellis placed on the inside, there’s plenty of room in the bed for non-trellis crops—we filled that space with our spicy peppers! 🪱 We also added some Vego worm composters, which have been a home to a thriving community of worms! Comment “Trellis” to get the link! #vegoplanters #vegogardening #selfwateringplanters #gardeningtips #gardeningideas #gardeninginspo #gardeningcommunity #gardentips #gardensoil #gardeninspiration #beginnergardener #gardeningistherapy #gardeningislife | Vego Garden
5.4K reactions · 426 shares | 🥕🥕Fall carrots🥕 🥕 I’m finally figuring out the best way to grow these! 1. Use grow bags and ensure the soil is free of debris so your taproot is long and straight. 2. The hardest part-thin! You need to leave 1-2 inches between each plant. It’s seems excessive when they’re small but it’s totally necessary! 3. Water more than you think. I found the carrots close to the edge of the container are ‘hairy’ with tiny roots. This is because the edges of the container dry out quicker and the taproots send out little runners to find hydration. 4. Let them grow longer than what the seed pack says! Most say around 60-70 days. Let them grow at least 90 for larger taproots. 5. Grow into the fall. The cool weather unmistakably sweetens the carrots. What are some of your carrot growing tips!? 🥕🥕 #fallcarrots #fall #fallharvest #garden #organicgardening #autumnvibes | Chris
94K views · 2.3K reactions | I do not prune my limelight hydrangeas this time of year…but sooo many of you are asking for my tips. FYI it will not hurt the limelight hydrangeas if you prune them now. I prefer to leave the crisp blooms for the birds to nest in during the winter and prune early spring. To trim your Limelights correctly, look to see where they were cut back last year, and then snip branches—at a slight angle—right above that to create a “Y.”  Then, just go through all your branches, cutting each one into a Y shape. This will give you beautiful branch structure and create a sturdy base for big blooms! You can also clear out any stragglers or small branches that won’t support heavy flowers (this will also help to keep your hydrangeas from flopping over!). | Carmen Johnston Gardens
