The key is to find an architect that understands your vision and specializes in additions. Proportions are one of the major things architects get wrong, resulting in the addition looking like an after thought. Make sure you look at the architects work before going with them! Ask them to show you pictures of additions they have done in the past. Don’t worry so much about the builder because the builder reads the architects plans so it is important they are just right!
