A transformation is the change in appearance or character (The Free Dictionary). The mathematical application of transformation refers to flips, slides and turns. In genetics the word transformation is used to describe genetic material being altered by another organism's DNA. Shakespeare uses the theme of transformation to develop character's change in appearance and alteration in character; and to show contrast in setting and mood.

The imagery transforms throughout the play to emphasize the change of the characters mental stability and the change of the tone. Growing, astronomy, and appearance imagery changes to disease, serpent, and blood imagery. The new imagery reveals a different side of the story. Similarly, when a snake loses its skin it reveals new snake skin.

Lady Macbeth often takes charge in her marriage with Macbeth. Their relationship is not a typical husband-wife relationship of that era. Women were considered the lesser sex and inferior to men. Reading Macbeth in the twenty first century emphasizes the transformation that has happened to women's rights because women have a influential role in society today.

They both flee to England and organize an army to attack Macbeth's castle. It is their stamina that brings change to Scotland; they did not sit back and wait for it to happen.

As they try harder to mask their actions readers see the transformation happening to their character.
In the mathematical sense, reflection is a transformation. Likewise, the transformation of Macbeth's character from noble to evil is reflected in his marriage and country. His marriage transforms from functioning to disconnected. The country transforms from order to chaos. These are reflections of the ill transformations happening to Macbeth's character.

In the beginning of the play, Lady Macbeth is see to provoke Macbeth and convince him into killing King Duncan. We can see that Lady Macbeth poisons Macbeth's mind with blind ambition. The strangler fig, is a parasitic species that takes over other trees, essentially strangling them under new growth and often snuffing them out. In this case, Lady Macbeth portrays the role of the killer strangler fig while Macbeth plays the helpless host.
Macbeth's role changes from good to bad throughout the play. Macbeth's change in role can be displayed by this fruit rotting. In the beginning of the play Macbeth is seen as good person when he saves the King Duncan from death. However, as the play goes on Macbeth, like this rotting apple, turns bad because of his wrong decisions.

Like this water, Macbeth also changes from weak to strong. In the beginning of the play, after murdering King Duncan, Macbeth was portrayed as a very weak character. However, towards the end of the play Macbeth develops a very strong personality and this can be seen when he refuses to give up fighting in the battlefield with Macduff and Malcolm's army. Macbeth started off weak, like this water, but then changed into a strong character like the ice.
In the play, macbeth, Last Macbeth can be compared to a melting ice cube. In the beginning of the lady Macbeth is strong like an ice cube. However as the play goes on, we can see that Lady macbeth becomes weaker just like an ice cube melting.

These growing stages of this plant represents Macbeth growing ambition. Macbeth's ambition started off just like this seed. This ambition was later nourished by Lady Macbeth's encouragement, and grew to incredible heights. By the end of the play, Macbeth was completely blinded by his ambition.
