Books: Hope for the Flowers [With Recorded by Trina Paulus] (Paperback) by Trina Paulus (Author)
Hope for the Flowers. One of my teachers in high school read this to us in class. It's a good book for everyone.
WhyTry | Teaching the Skills of Resilience | K-12 Programs
When WhyTry Founder Christian Moore became a social worker, he discovered that the youth he was working with at a local alternative high school were having a difficult time retaining the principles they were being taught. He soon realized why: The majority of these students were visual learners. The Reality Ride is often the first visual metaphor that is introduced to a class or group. It uses a picture of a rollercoaster to demonstrate that each decision we make has a consequence.
Cincinnati News, Sports and Things to Do | Cincinnati Enquirer
"The Rules of Grieving: They are still boys" - long, well-written article about children/youth and grieving. Based on the journalist's time with a teen grief group at an all-male high school. Heartbreaking but good information about grief and childhood.
SF: What is Sticky Faith?
Sticky Faith Every Day - Free 8 Week Curriculum. Lent 2013? Practical resources for parents and youth leaders to nurture long-term faith in teenagers.
DYM Training
Great website for all things youth ministry, but this post is fantastic: "Why You Need To Build A Youth Ministry Dashboard"
Recycled Angel with Attitude Ornament - South Africa
These little Angels, made from recycled pop cans, are hand crafted by a group of Zulu teenage students as an after school activity. These teenagers live in an area of Northern Zululand where the AIDs epidemic is very high, and are themselves orphans who have been left destitute. It is hoped that, in a small way, this project will empower the youths with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Middle School/Jr. High Youth Group Lesson about Finding Directions for Life
Parents: A Word about Instagram
This is a MUST READ if you are at all an influencer of middle school or high school students (parent, youth group leader, teacher, etc). The author talks about helping students to find their identity in Christ and not basing their self worth on how many likes and followers they get on social media (such as instagram).
