    Prepositions

    ➢ In, at, on
    ➢ Places, time and directions
    At, On, In son las prepositions más comunes:
    ➤To remember:
    ⬥At ➔ time and moments. Siempre con la hora y
    tiempos/momentos del del día.
    At night
    (Por la noche/De noche)
    At 7.30
    (A las siete y media)
    At breakfast
    (En el desayuno)
    ⬥On ➔ days and dates. Siempre con los días y fechas.
    On Wednesday To have in mind:
    (El miércoles) Ese “on” no es un artículo definido como “el”,
    es una preposición. Se traduce como artículo
    porque es lo más natural que usamos en el
    idioma español.
    ➤To remember:
    On June 13th/ On 31 October
    (El trece de junio / El treinta y uno de Octubre)
    On Halloween’s Day
    (En el Día de Halloween)

    To have in mind:
    Si queremos pronunciar June 13th ➔
    June thirteen.
    Si queremos pronunciar 31 October
    ➔ Thirty-first of October.

    ⬥In ➔ months, years and seasons. Siempre con los meses,


    años y estaciones del año.
    ➤To remember:
    In November
    (En noviembre)
    In 1945
    (En mil novecientos cuarenta y cinco)
    In spring
    (En primavera)
    ➤Specific times (tiempos específicos):

    ⬥At ➔ weekend, holidays (without the day), the end of, at


    the moment. Fin de semana, días festivos (sacamos el day),
    a finales de, en el momento/ahora.
    ➤Specific times (tiempos específicos):

    ⬥At ➔ weekend, holidays (without the day), the end of, at


    the moment. Fin de semana, días festivos (sacamos el day),
    a finales de, en el momento/ya.
    ➤Two ways of saying the same (dos formas de decir lo mismo):
    ⬥If we use the definite article (si usamos el artículo definido, the) ➔
    We use in + the + time of the day. E.g: in the morning, in the
    evening, in the afternoon

    ⬥If we don’t use the definite article (si no usamos el artículo


    definido)➔ We use on + day + time of the day. This is only to
    specify what time of what day are we talking about (es para
    especificar en qué momento de qué día estamos hablando). E.g:
    on Monday morning, on Tuesday evening, on Wednesday
    afternoon.
    ➤We don’t use at, in or on before (no usamos estas prepositions
    antes de) :
    ➤In + quantity + time = time from now (tiempo que corre desde
    ahora):

    ⬥To talk about a certain time from now (para hablar desde cierto
    tiempo desde ahora) ➔ we use in + quantity + time.
