Abstract
Introduction: The extraction of retained or impacted teeth close to vital structures or with
strong anchorages show a great problem for surgery, for which reason, when considering
maximum bone conservation, it is shown that Odontosection is the ideal technique to
follow.
Objective: To know the concept, technique, indications, advantages and precautions that
refer to perform an Odontosection.
Presentation of the case: The case of a 26-year-old male patient who comes referring pain
in the lower left hemiarch. Upon clinical examination, tooth 17 was seen partially erupted
same as 32, completing the study with radiographic analysis, diagnosing impaction of the
pieces. We decide surgical extraction of the pieces with osteotomy and odontosection
tecnique.
