Week 08 - Academic Task 2
Week 08 - Academic Task 2
Week 08 - Academic Task 2
1. Achievement to be evaluated:
At the end of the unit, the student uses mathematical, statistical, search and text
functions to process information within spreadsheets.
2. General indications:
The presentation of this work is individual. Each student is asked to record their
personal income and expenses within an annual period (previous year), using the
mathematical, statistical, text and search functions worked on in unit 2.
3. Specific indications:
• Detail an annual personal budget table, recording income and expenses made during
the 12 months of the previous year. See appendix.
• Prepare a budget using a table, considering the following 7 titles for the columns:
DATE, INCOME/EXPENSE, CRITERIA CODE, CRITERIA, CATEGORY, AMOUNT
and AMOUNT CLASSIFICATION.
• DATE: Classify dates considering the 12 months of the year.
• INCOME and EXPENDITURE: Indicate the type of movement, that is, whether it is
INCOME or EXPENDITURE.
• CRITERIA CODE:
○ Build a code structure that allows you to differentiate each income and expense.
○ Consider the following 6 text functions:
■ Concatenate
■ Find
■ Extract, right or left
■ Uppercase, lowercase or proper
■ Long
■ Text, replace, substitute
• CRITERION:
○ Describe the type of movement (income or expenditure).
○ Consider 7 different criteria for EXPENDITURES and 3 different criteria for
INCOME.
• CATEGORY:
○ EXPENDITURES: Assign a specific category to each criterion. Consider
the following 5 categories: STUDIES, FOOD, TRANSPORTATION,
TELEPHONY and HEALTH.
○ INCOME: Assign each criterion a specific category. Consider the following 3
categories: SALARY, SUBSIDY (family and/or scholarship) and LOAN (bank,
family or other).
• AMOUNT: Record the amount in soles used in each movement (income or expense).
Consider decimals.
• TYPE OF CRITERIA
○ Prepare a two-column support table indicating the status of the movement,
considering AMOUNT RANGE for the first column and AMOUNT
CLASSIFICATION for the second column.
○ The amount classification considers the following 4 levels according to the
monthly amount recorded:
■ 0 soles: No movement (no filling)
■ Less than 1500 soles: Low (fill in light blue)
■ Less than 2500 soles: Moderate (fill in yellow)
■ Greater than or equal to 2500: High (fill in red)
○ Using the auxiliary table, complete the CRITERIA TYPE column, using search
functions, taking the AMOUNT column as a reference.
• SUMMARY: Create a summary table by categories using your own design, specifying
whether it is INCOME or EXPENDITURE and considering mathematical and statistical
functions for the following:
○ EXPENDITURES:
■ Total of each category.
■ Adjust all amounts to 1 decimal place.
■ Averages by category.
■ Largest graduation of the year.
■ Number of times per year in which you invested in STUDIES.
○ INCOME:
■ Total of each category.
■ Adjust all amounts to 1 decimal place.
■ Averages by category.
■ Lowest income of the year.
■ Number of times per year in which you received a GRANT.
• The submission of Academic Task 2 must be done in week 8, through the Canvas
platform.
• You must develop this activity in MICROSOFT EXCEL
• The file must be uploaded to Canvas with the following name: TA2_Last_First_Name
4. Recommendations:
Carry out this activity taking into account your real income and expenses, so that it
can serve as a financial organization tool.
5. Evaluation criteria:
Review the evaluation rubric in this same document with which the evaluation will be
carried out.
your performance in this activity (Annex 2).
