TV Article Happy Birthday, Lucy Hale By Samantha Highfill Samantha Highfill Samantha is a writer based in Los Angeles. Television is her one true love, and she tweets about it. A lot. EW's editorial guidelines Published on June 14, 2013 02:47PM EDT Photo: Imeh Akpanudosen/Getty Images Lucy Hale, one of the stars of ABC Family’s hit show Pretty Little Liars, turns 24 today. And with another year in Hollywood under her belt, she continues to find success while simultaneously charming everyone around her. So in honor of her big day, here’s why she’s the Liar that you should keep an eye on: Her face is everywhere. Hale is not only the face of Bongo Jeans, but just recently became the beauty ambassador for mark. And if that’s not where you recognize her from, you might have seen her face pasted all over the Internet with fans pleading for her to play Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey. You know you’ve made it when fans want to see you in what is sure to be the most successful NC-17 film in history …She can actually sing. Unlike some actresses, Hale doesn’t just sing because she sort of can. She actually appeared on American Juniors back when Ryan Seacrest still had frosted tips. And today, she’s recording an album. If only the Liars could sing “A” to death. She’s the best Liar. Hale’s Aria is fierce, funny and fashionable, and if you ask me, she has the best taste in men. She’s got an edge, and I’ll say it: She’s my favorite Liar. Of the four of them, she’s definitely the most grounded, and the only one without a hint of that popular girl elitist attitude. She doesn’t take herself too seriously. Just check out Hale’s Twitter feed and you will find pictures of her dressed up as a unicorn for Halloween and/or stupid things that she’s said. In this business, if you can’t make fun of yourself, you’re a goner. And that’s why Hale seems to be a keeper.
