TV The Boulet Brothers' Dragula season 6 cast revealed, featuring Drag Race queen and return of season 2's Majesty EW has the exclusive reveal of the new "Dragula" cast of contestants, with hosts Dracmorda and Swanthula revealing that this the "best season yet." By Joey Nolfi Joey Nolfi Entertainment Weekly's Oscars expert, 'RuPaul's Drag Race' beat reporter, host of 'Quick Drag' Twitter Spaces, and cohost of 'EW's BINGE' podcast. Almost all of the drag content on this site is my fault (you're welcome). EW's editorial guidelines Published on September 10, 2024 12:00PM EDT The Boulet Brothers' Dragula has 12 new contestants to go along with its debut pair of Emmy nominations — and Entertainment Weekly can exclusively reveal each of the contestants joining Shudder's divinely grotesque, horror-themed drag competition series when it premieres for season 6 later this year. A new horde of spooky, ooky, kooky, and creepy drag performers are set to compete for the title of the World's Next Drag Supermonster, but two new additions are no strangers to TV stardom. Among the cast are RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under alum Yuri Guaii (now just Yuri), who placed sixth on that show's second season in 2022, and James Majesty, who also enters the current competition under a mononym (Majesty) after finishing Dragula season 2 as a runner-up alongside eventual The Boulet Brothers' Dragula: Titans all-star winner Victoria Elizabeth Black. Other season 6 performers include Severity Stone — an entertainer who's 6'6 tall, according to their Instagram bio — and Scylla, a self-described "nautical monster" with a penchant for oceanic terror. The new cast reveal comes after a successful year for Dragula, which culminated in the TV Academy bestowing head judges Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet with their first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Makeup for a Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Program — all for doing their own makeup on the show. 'The Boulet Brothers Dragula' season 6 cast revealed. Scotty Kirby "This cast is incredible, and we can’t wait for the world to get to know them and watch their stories unfold. They are a lot less safe and less worried about the fans’ potential reactions to them than casts in recent seasons have been, so there is a definite return to drama this season, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat," Dracmorda tells EW in a statement. Adds Swanthula: "Everything is bigger, better, and more developed this year from the challenges and themes to the locations and looks, but you see it especially in the exterminations. Every single episode pushes the envelope on terror and shows the cast facing their worst fears, and it’s very compelling. This absolutely is our best season yet." Spooky drag queen TV hosts The Boulet Brothers score first Emmy nomination for their own horror makeup Dragula's ascension comes after the program's modest beginnings, with a low-budget launch on the Hey Qween Network in 2016, before it became a global series on the AMC-owned streaming service Shudder. Dragula features a unique roster of contestants seeking to fulfill the show's core competitive tenets of drag, filth, horror, and glamour. Instead of lip-syncing for their lives, competitors face off in extermination challenges that put them in increasingly grotesque scenarios in an effort to remain in the competition — including getting tattoos of birds with enlarged genitalia, navigating a laser maze with high-voltage shocks, and being tied to a bed while covered with cheese and live rats. "This is a journey where I’m trying to heal my inner child. I feel that this gives me the opportunity to show the world that you can be so broken, you can come from such a dark place and still accomplish beautiful things," season 5 winner Niohuru X exclusively told EW in January, in her first interview since winning the show. "This is a message to myself that I’m worthy of love. I can be celebrated by my darkness, my creepiness, my transness, all the things I used to hate about myself. I turned those bad memories and experiences into something beautiful." See EW's exclusive reveal of The Boulet Brothers' Dragula season 6 cast of contestants below.
