The Broadway legend, best known for originating the role of Glinda in Wicked, is returning to her hot pink, rich girl climes as beauty queen, socialite and TV personality Jacqueline “Jackie” Siegel in the new musical Queen of Versailles — and Entertainment Weekly has your first look at Chenoweth and her costar, F. Emilio Madrid The musical, based on the 2012 documentary of the same name by Lauren Greenfield, follows Jackie Siegel and her husband, David (Abraham), as they set out to build the largest private home in America, a $100 million house inspired by the Palace of Versailles. But as the Great Recession of 2008 looms, David and Jackie begin to discover the true cost of their lavish lifestyle — and all that comes with it. Jackie envisions herself as the embodiment of the American Dream, with her rise from computer engineer to Mrs. Florida to billionairess. Lindsey Ferrentino (Ugly Lies the Bone) wrote the book, and Michael Arden (revivals of Parade, Spring Awakening) will direct with choreography by Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant (Parade). Other cast includes Melody Butiu (Here Lies Love) as Sofia, Nina White (Kimberly Akimbo) as Victoria Siegel, Stephen DeRosa (Boardwalk Empire) as John, Greg Hildreth (Company) as Gary, Tatum Grace Hopkins as Jonquil, and Tony Award–nominee Isabel Keating (The Boy from Oz) as Debbie. The musical has yet to set a Broadway opening date, but is certainly angling for a spot on the Great White Way in the future.
