The late-night host weighed in on a collection of increasingly outrageous political headlines during his Jimmy Kimmel Live monologue on Monday, including conservative commentator Tucker Carlson’s recent admission that he was mauled by a demon while in bed with his wife and their four dogs. “Tucker Carlson is apparently part of a faith-based documentary called Christianities,” Kimmel explained, “and this is absolutely mind-boggling — Tucker makes a very casual confession to the host of the documentary detailing a terrifying face off with the devil himself.” Sign up for Entertainment Weekly's free daily newsletter to get breaking TV news, exclusive first looks, recaps, reviews, interviews with your favorite stars, and more. He got Babadook’d!” Kimmel teased. “And, strangely, the most unbelievable part of the story is that he has a wife!” The 56-year-old’s joke is a nod to the 2014 horror film, which saw widowed mother Amelia (Essie Davis) and her son Sam (Noah Wiseman) plagued by a demonic entity living in their home named the Babadook. In a follow-up clip, Carlson explained that he rushed to the bathroom after surviving the supernatural attack, where he discovered “four claw marks on either side” of his torso and left shoulder that were still bleeding. “Sounds like somebody finally cracked into that ketamine Elon [Musk] sent him for Christmas,” Kimmel joked. “So what do you do when you get attacked by a demon in bed? Well, you call your assistant, of course.” A third clip revealed that Carlson did end up actually calling his Evangelical Christian assistant for guidance on the encounter, who confirmed to him that demons do sometimes lash out at individuals in their beds at night. In response, Carlson could be seen bursting into laughter over the absurdity of the situation and asking, "What are you even talking about?" Meghan McCain slams Tucker Carlson after heated text argument over father's death: 'I lit into his ass' Kimmel felt the same way. “When he laughs, do you think that’s him laughing, or the demon laughing [through him]?” he asked the audience. "I mean, this is bonkers!" "You’ve got dogs, you’ve got [demons] — this is basically the story of Son of Sam," Kimmel said, referring to the 1970s serial killer David Berkowitz who, at one point, claimed to be receiving his orders from a demonic dog. Kimmel even noted that they “have video of Tucker talking to the demon” before cutting to a clip of Carlson interviewing former president Donald Trump. He then jokingly added, “Sorry, demon, that one has no soul to steal.” Watch Kimmel talk about Carlson's demonic attack — and encourage viewers to go out and vote — in the clip above.
