EW's editorial guidelines Published on March 2, 2018 09:11AM EST Four stars of the silver screen discover the pleasures of Fifty Shades of Grey in the first Book Club trailer. Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen all play women who introduce the guilty pleasure of E.L. James into their literary circle and learn it’s not too late to revitalize their love lives. As Bergen previously put it to EW, “It’s like someone throws a grenade in the room. Their lives go kersplat.” The red room antics of Christian Grey prompt Carol (Steenburgen) to get kinky with her husband (Craig T. Nelson, who also knows Fonda from Grace & Frankie), Vivian (Fonda) to rekindle an old flame, and Diane (Keaton) and Sharon (Bergen) to look for love. With Fifty Shades Freed, the last of the film adaptations starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, now in theaters, the Fifty Shades cinematic legacy can continue through Book Club without a reboot. Directed by first-time helmer Bill Holderman, the film also stars Richard Dreyfuss, Don Johnson, Andy Garcia, and Alicia Silverstone. Book Club will open in theaters on May 18.
