Licenciada em Sociologia (2003, FCSH-Universidade NOVA de Lisboa), com mestrado em Antropologia Social e Cultural (2009, ICS-Universidade de Lisboa) e doutorada em Antropologia/especialidade de Antropologia e História (2018, ICS-Universidade de Lisboa) com a tese «Classe, memória e identidade em Cabo Verde: uma etnografia do carnaval de São Vicente».
Actualmente, é investigadora integrada do CRIA – Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia (Universidade NOVA de Lisboa) onde desenvolve o projecto de investigação WHAlands – Whaling Heritage in the Atlantic islands: America, the Azores and Cape Verde entangled by the sea (19th-21st centuries), financiado pela FCT.
A sua abordagem metodológica combina pesquisa histórica e etnográfica e os seus interesses de investigação centram-se em temas como baleação, classe, memória social, identidade, património cultural, mobilidades marítimas e colonialismo.
Holds a BA in Sociology (2003, FCSH-NOVA University of Lisbon), an MA in Social and Cultural Anthropology (2009, ICS-University of Lisbon) and a PhD in Anthropology/specialization in Anthropology and History (2018, ICS-University of Lisbon) with the dissertation «Class, memory and identity in Cape Verde: an ethnography of the carnival of São Vicente».
Currently she is a researcher at CRIA – Centre for Research in Anthropology (NOVA University of Lisbon) where she develops the research project WHAlands – Whaling Heritage in the Atlantic islands: America, the Azores and Cape Verde entangled by the sea (19th-21st centuries).
Her methodological approach combines historical and ethnographic research and her research interests include whaling, class, social memory, identity, cultural heritage, maritime mobilities and colonialism.
