One of the questions that I often get is: what kind of resources and infrastructure does Nebius provide? First of all, we have our own data center in Finland, which is equipped with modern systems in every aspect of compute, storage, and data processing. In terms of GPUs, we provide access to the powerful NVIDIA H100 graphics cards. These state of the art  cards are designed to efficiently handle large AI models with billions of parameters. Our dedicated server node features the SXM5 GPU board with eight NVIDIA H100s, allowing for massive throughput. To ensure fast data transfer, we equip our nodes with a 3.2 Tbit/s per host InfiniBand interconnection. This 3.2 TB/s capacity is achieved by using eight InfiniBand network cards, each offering 400 GB/s. Final session recorded for the Telia Cloud days x #Microsoft. Again amazing event coming up for Telian's wanting to dig deeper into ai in business or technical track. Be sure to check it out later in this month. I was privileged to be a part of two presentations. The first one will be on the technical track and sharing the stage with awesome Erik Perninge. In that presentation we will look into #Fabric and build full end to end a contact categorisation pipeline in couple of minutes from data ingestion to visualisation. I think that fabric offers a simple setup to start doing full end to end analytics and ai workflows with developer focused view! Have found myself using the tool a lot for fast prototyping data pipelines and simple machine learning tasks. Also we had a fun time with Erik setting up this demo session! On the business track I had the change to interview Riikka Tulimäki about generative ai and potential in MarTech. I was amazed by Riikka's views and points. I think it was very inspirational and she had good points that change management is key part of bringing AI into any business ecosystem. The Critical Role of Undersea Cables 🌊 In recent Days, the severing of undersea data cables connecting Finland, Germany, Lithuania, and Sweden has highlighted a glaring vulnerability in our global digital infrastructure. The 1,200-kilometre fiber-optic cable linking Finland and Germany was cut, with ship anchors or bottom trawling supposedly “to blame.” While some might pretend to be unsure of the cause, let’s not kid ourselves – these cables are clearly vulnerable to external forces. It doesn’t take much to realise this is a case of deliberate interference, especially considering the ongoing geopolitical tensions. The Impact on Data Centres and Global Connectivity 🔌 Undersea cables are the lifeblood of global communications, connecting data centres and enabling everything from cloud services to online transactions. Disruptions like this one serve as a stark reminder of the fragile nature of these connections. Any damage to these cables causes service interruptions and bottlenecks, particularly for data centres that depend on uninterrupted, high-speed internet. The recent incident in the Baltic Sea makes it painfully clear that the security of these cables must be a top priority for anyone relying on the digital economy to function. Securing Our Digital Infrastructure 🔒 With undersea cables playing such a central role in communications, it’s no wonder they’re becoming prime targets for interference. The damage to the cables, combined with past incidents like the Nord Stream pipeline explosion, shows that critical infrastructure is under constant threat.
