R 83 Dura - Europos, Syria

The earliest house - church was discovered in the city of Dura - Europos, Roman province of Syria, dated back to around 240/241 AD with frescoes of biblical scenes including a figure of Jesus and Christ as the Good Shepherd. In Rome: Santa Constanza built in 4th century AD, San Lorenzo Fuori le mura, Santa Sabina built in 5th century AD. In Roman provinces: Basilica St. Sofia and Rotonda St. Giorgi in the city of Serdica (today's Sofia, Bulgaria) built in 3rd - 4th century AD.
