46K views · 8.4K reactions | How much do I make flipping furniture? Before I get into it, if you're interested in the products used for this transformation, comment ✨️ RESTORE ✨️ for the links sent straight to your inbox! I'm a private person. So while I won't tell you my annual income, I will tell you this⤵️ You do the math... I left a corporate sales position in retail furniture five years ago to pursue my own furniture restoration and refinishing business. I had intended to only supplement my savings with my business to avoid pulling from my savings. Instead, I have been able to replace my income from my previous position and build a business that supports two full-time and one part-time employees. We average 75% ROI for each piece. Each piece sells anywhere from $1000 to $4000. With the average piece being around $1,800 to $2,800. Each month, our goal is to sell four of our pieces and have at least three custom orders for client owned pieces. Each of those orders usually includes 1 - 3 pieces. It's important to note that we operate debt free. One important thing to me when beginning this journey was that I had nothing hanging over my head that kept me from walking away at any point if needed. We do this by working with what we have and only investing in new tools/supplies/furniture when we have it in cash in our budget. We could get into all of that in a different discussion. Additionally, our prices didn't start at those amounts. It took time and dedication to build a quality clientele and improve our skillset/quality with each piece. That continues with every piece to this day. My last but certainly not least important note on this topic - none of this includes any monetary value from social media. Yes, we do make some off of affiliate sales/ads/views etc, HOWEVER I don't share those because it's important to me to share that this is a viable business all on its own. Is it easy? No. Will it test you? Yes. Is it challenging? Yes. Is it worth it? No doubt. 310K views · 9.4K reactions | ⬇️ Comment ‘WASH’ for the VIDEO & PDF guide to achieve this natural raw finish! ⚡️After many requests, i have recorded an extended YouTube VIDEO for you! 🎉 Our clients vintage Maple sideboard was completely sanded down to raw then given a paint wash to act as a barrier between the natural golden orange tones of the maple wood and the top coat. The ratio of 1 parts paint to 10 parts water is the lightest paint wash we have found possible with most pieces where visible paint isn’t left on the timbers surface. It soaks right in. However you can do the ratio of your choosing for the look you want! This technique is possible over naturally light timbers, red timbers will bleed red tannins. I’ve seen some success with green paint washes over red timbers but unfortunately it’s not guaranteed. Wood bleaching red timbers is an option however, see our other reels on this. You can use ANY waterbased paint for this including left over wall paint. Choose a white/tan/beige. I like to mix something similar to the wood I’m applying it too. Don’t be limited to light paint washes! Essentially you’re creating a waterbased stain, try out tans, browns, blues, greys and black! Colour correcting with paint washes is also another great tip! ⚡️Products I used on our clients piece: ⬇️ -Top Coat: @monocel.timbercare waterbased satin varnish -The paint wash we used was a mix of left over whites but a suggested mix to try is @purecopaint in the colour Calico. Mixed 1 parts paint to 10 parts water. | Ashley Krug | mgk · Lonely Road

33K views · 1.5K reactions | Is this dresser too damaged to be saved?? | One of the most damaged pieces of furniture I’ve flipped to date… but also one of the most rewarding! 😍 Should I keep this black dresser or the white one?! | By Girlwithapowerdrill | I've avoided flipping this trash dresser for over six months but the transformation was well worth the wait. Now, this dresser just might be one of the most damaged pieces I've gotten my hands on but I was tired of looking at it. So, I knew it was time to get this flip over with. I mean, the back paneling was literally falling off and there were nicks and dings on every single corner and on every single drawer. The drawers are broken on some areas and this whole thing was just in dire need of full repair. Needless to say, let's give a round of applause for the MVP on this flip, Wood Bondo. Much deserved. After a good hour of Wood Bonda, I went on to repairing the back of this piece. I was hoping I'd be able just to scuff sand this dresser before priming but the scratches on the top of this dresser were so deep. I had to sand all the way down to the natural wood grain just to even out the surface to paint on. Luckily, the scratches weren't as deep on the other areas of this dresser so I was able to scuff sand these before priming. I went on to priming most of the dresser with my paint sprayer and this paint sprayer is my favorite one to date. I've tried so many different paint sprayers over the course of furniture flipping these past three years but this one has been full on the easiest one to use. As a primer, was drying, I moved on to sanding down these drawers and these drawers were aligned with veneer so I was just praying that I wasn't going to sand through this. Now, this was a split last minute decision but I decided to use some spare wood to cut some wood slots to size and this is one of my favorite parts of this flip. I cut the slots to size using my table saw miter saw and then just added them to the two drawers on the bottom. I used a spare piece of wood to space them out among the drawers and then use wood glue to secure them into place. In round two of repairing damages. I used a hammer to try to move this piece of wood back into place and somehow I was able to get it without breaking the wood. After priming, I realized there were so many of damage that I'd missed. So I'm using this little bondo wood putty. It's kind of like a wood filler but it's way fast dry. Instead of waiting for hours for wood filler to dry, this stuff dried in like 20 minutes. And it was at this point that I just really wanted to give up on this lip but I decided just to trust the process and stick it out. For the drawers that I'd sanded down to the natural wood grain I decided to add a paint wash to try to get rid of some of the oranger undertones. And lastly I finally saw the end of all my hard work and got to move on to painting and one of the most important steps of painting is to make sure you seal the piece after was some sealer. After I sealed the entire piece the final step was drilling new holes for hardware and adding in new knobs. So here's one last look of before and here it is after. Despite avoiding this dresser for over six months because of all the damage, this is one of my favorite flips to date. And one of the worst parts about being a furniture flipper is that after every flip I do, I end up wanting to keep it. I actually flipped a very similar dresser to this a year ago and you guessed it, I kept it and now I need your help deciding. Do I keep the white one or the black one? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

1.4K views · 2K reactions | Racking your brain to find the perfect white oak stain? It can be quite the challenge! This blend goes perfectly with both brass and black finishes, and is the perfect neutral to complement the warmer tones in this bathroom. Can also be used for kitchen cabinets! 👉 Screenshot the label shown in this reel and get it mixed at any Sherwin Williams or paint store, or send it to your contractor! 👉 Save this for reference if you want to come back and look at it later 👉 PSA: ALWAYS test the stain on a smaller piece of white oak in the room you’re going to be using it in and place with other materials/finishes in the room. This is SO important as each space is different and stains look different in different lighting conditions. #bathroomdesign #bathroomremodel #primarybathroom #bathroomideas #bathroommaterials #bathroommakeover #whiteoakcabinets #whiteoak #interiordesign #interiorswithbecky #interiordecor #interiorstyling #homerenovation #cabinetstaining #homeremodel #sherwinwilliams | Interiors with Becky | Marshmello · Miles On It

59K views · 1.5K reactions | DETAILS HERE ➡️ I think these lower-end, laminate pieces can definitely make profitable furniture flips! They’re super sturdy and useful units but since they’re nothing precious or particularly valuable in their original state, they really make fantastic canvases for new designs. After chopping the overhangs off the top and some extra real estate off the bottoms, I used some poplar to build two new bases that I stained in a warm brown and sealed with polyurethane. I scuffed up the slick laminate and primed it with BIN shellac based primer because it’s got a great grip on surfaces like this. Everything got painted in a super durable cabinet enamel from Behr in their colour Meteorological and once that was dry, I put it all back together. I bought these drawers for $50 off of Facebook Marketplace, put about $160 worth of materials into their upgrade and now I can relist them at $225 a piece or $550 for the pair (works out to $42.50/hr), which I think is totally fair. | Salvaged by k. scott | Salvaged by k. scott · Original audio
