Dana Niblett on Instagram: "Over the years, I have implemented several systems and procedures that have helped make my “teacher life” easier. One of those procedures are these absent trays. When students are absent, I write their names in any worksheets that I handed out that day and put them in these absent drawer (organized by class period). Students know that the procedures for getting make up work after an absence are as follows: ✅ Check Google Classroom ✅ Check the absent drawer (pictured here) This ensures consistency throughout the year and students never have to wonder what we did in class during their absence. GAME. CHANGER. 👏 #teachertips #highschoolteacher #iteachscience #classroomorganization #newteachertips #newteacher" Absent Work, Teacher Organization, High School Teacher, Work Organization, Teacher Hacks, New Teachers, 5th Grades, Fourth Grade, That Day

This absent work bulletin board has been a game changer in keeping my desk clean and keeping students responsible for figuring out what they missed while absent. Current week's assignments go in the folders and at the end of the week, they all get moved to a bin/crate located just below. Student absent or lose a handout? Point to the wall and they will get the hint 😁 This format is especially handy for middle school or high school, where one teacher might have different subjects each period.
