I'm going to start by using this foam roller to apply a thin coat of white semi gloss paint. It is important that it's a semi gloss because we're going to stain over this in a little bit. Now I'm just going to use my hair dryer to speed up the drying process. I'm going to tape off the pattern so I can paint the other side of the sign now. The color I'm using is called vintage tee rose. It's a pretty pink color. I'm also using a foam roller to apply this paint. I really like these rollers because they absorb a lot of the excess paint and you don't get as much bleeding when using tape or stencils. Now that the paint's dry, I'm just going to sand over it with my orbital sander using one 20 grit sandpaper. I'm using the stain color dark walnut to go over this floral pattern. This is why we use the semi-gloss paint because now I'm going to wipe that excess stain off of the white paint and you'll see it lighten up a lot. I also like to go around the edge of the board with a stain to give it a distressed look. I use my glowforge to cut out the word for this sign and I'm going to attach that with some wood glue. Now I'm just going to add a bow and some greenery for the finishing touches and here's the finished sign. I do have this one available to purchase and I also sell the SPG files if you'd like to make it yourself.
