Fairy Aprons (Utricularia dichotoma) is a perennial herb with numerous underground trailing stems. The mauve or purple flowers are borne on a slender, wiry stem. They are solitary, in pairs or whorls of three or four flowers in clusters near the end of the stem. Flowering occurs late Spring to early Autumn. It is native to New Caledonia and grows in all States of Australia in moist and wet locations.
