MIXEDup Art Studio

Life in my little art studio. My paints, craft supplies and canvasses have conquered half of my living room. Here's how I survive the mess. And how I try to make beauty out of it too. Also take a look at my sketches, at how they slowly become works of art. Read about the troubles I meet. Plans I make. How I make a living. How I grow.

Painted cabinet
Lockdown 2020: the start of a complete interior make-over. This is one side of a beloved cabinet. Painted and decoupaged in art nouveau style. I love the Bohemian feel of it and enjoy it everyday!
Commissioned artwork
Making art for father&son is somewhat different than the artwork I usually make. I had fun figuring out what worked from both perspectives, mine and theirs. Broadened my horizon for sure! I'm very pleased with the results, and I'm not the only one. Seeing that smile upon their face is so rewarding! #commissionedart #mixedmedia #artforboys
Pinning artprints at home
Home-made pinboard, made from a big canvas and stretched velvet. Artworks are held by metal clips and by elastic lace & ribbon. Stays perfectly in place! These artprints are a lucky find. Somewhere behind a dumpster lay a big(!) catalogue of art, that included descriptions as wel as fine art prints! You can image the smile on my face!
My pegboard
I made some big pegboards to hang my art and inspiration. Made of just a carton box and some burlap, it looks rustic. I love it; it's perfect!
