No-Oil Beet Veggie Burgers A In fry pan (no oil!): 1 med minced red onion 2 cloves minced garlic B Prepare: 1.5 med grated raw beet 0.5 cup minced mushroom 2 tbsp soya sauce C Measure out and mix: 0.5 tsp paprika 0.5 tsp mustard powder 0.5 tsp cumin 0.5 tsp coriander 0.5 tsp tumeric (Old spices have often lost their potency and need to either double/triple the amounts or get new fresh ones) D- Mix: 1 can black beans, drained, rinsed, mashed 1 cup cooked brown rice- dry/drained 1 tbsp grown flax seeds 50 ml rolled oats Simmer A in 60 ml water or veg. broth 5 min Add B and C Cook until soft and most liquid absorbed. Cool Add B + C to D. Mix. Refrigerate 30 min. Make patties. Bake on lined (tin foil) baking sheet at 190 C or 375 F for 30 min (flip at 15 min) Diane D and James Stonehouse
