The perfect side dish! | The perfect side dish! I make a green bean casserole in my crockpot. | By Rick's Friend Justine | Alright, that is just six cups of frozen green beans cut already. Now, I'm coming in with eight ounces of cream cheese. Put that right on top of our green beans. I have eight more ounces so two blocks of cream cheese right in our crock pot with our frozen green beans I have here this onion soup and mix dip this is the best with green beans oh yeah okay well and rip this baby open and sprinkle it right into our Crock Pot now we're making a very big serving because this is for Thanksgiving so I'm going to use both of these packages get all of that flavoring in there the more flavor the better personally green beans are not my favorite vegetables so I like to dress them up and make them super delicious and this is going to be super easy as well and now for some flavor. I have some bacon that I just cooked up and we are just going to cut up some bacon right into there. We are making a super easy green bean casserole in our Crock Pot but this is the best way to make it because you don't have to use that mushroom soup. Personally, I'm not a big fan of mushroom. So, I sub the cream of mushroom for cream cheese and it just makes it so much better. Now, you could use fresh beans or canned green beans but I find the frozen to be the easiest and it just cooks so nicely in the crock pot chopped up right in there doesn't it look amazing now this is optional but I like a little cheese in mine this is just some shredded parmesan you could totally skip this we're just going to do a nice little sprinkle in there nothing crazy we don't want to take away from those other flavors. Perfect. Now for our seasoning we're we're of course going to put some black pepper in there. Remember this is a huge serving. This is for Thanksgiving dinner. The best side dish so you gotta make sure you season it properly. Those onion soups are not enough in my opinion. Now we're going to go in with some garlic salt. Now if you're worried about your sodium you could just do garlic powder. But I love some saltiness in my green beans. Especially on Thanksgiving. With that turkey and the mashed potatoes. Yummy. Wait. Garlic powder doesn't have sodium in it? Uh not as much as salt. Okay and now we're going to get some onion powder and we're going to put some red in there. Oh yeah the this smells delicious. This is literally my favorite way to make green bean casserole. Now I'm going to throw in some freeze dried chives. This is also optional. I just think it goes well with the bacon and the cream cheese flavors. So that's why I'm going for it if I could get it open. Alright so just a nice little sprinkle in there. Oh this is going to be savory and delicious you're going to want to make it for more than just Thanksgiving alright now we're almost done here now with that cream cheese we do need a little bit of liquid to get that you know green bean casserole texture so I have some 2% milk you can use whatever milk you want you can even use some half and half if you want it creamy or whatever we're just going to add about two cups of milk in here because this is a really big serving like I said this is for your you know twenty 30 person Thanksgiving dinner and it is going to be so good wow my parents are going to love this oh yeah okay that's about right and that looks incredible okay let's go ahead and put our lid on and the best part about the crock pot is you can cook your turkey while you set your crock pot on high and let these green beans cook set it and forget it alright you guys so it has been three hours on high we're going to go ahead and pop this on warm and let's check it out. My. Look at that steam. That's what we are looking for. Let's give this a nice good mix. Oh, that looks so good, you guys. Okay. Of course, no green bean casserole is complete without some crispy onions and I found this garlic pepper crispy onions and we're just going to throw that right on top. Get a nice little crisp. Ooh, that steam will warm those up and then, this is ready to serve. Oh, the best side dish. Oh, look at that. That looks so good. I might have put a little bit too much milk in there. So, if you guys try this recipe, do one cup instead of 2 cups. Let me grab a fork. I mean, even with all that liquid in there, this is still going to be amazing. That is so good you guys. You have to try it.

I make my Tennessee onion sidedish. | By Rick's Friend Justine | Okay, so that was five yellow onions that I cut up into rings right into my 13 by nine pyrex dish. We're just making sure we have kind of a flat surface in our pan. We're instantly going to come in with some garlic powder. You can use fresh garlic if that's what you prefer or garlic salt but I prefer garlic powder and we are going to season this generously. Beautiful. Then, the main star of the show, we have our Corelle seasoning and make sure to not put too much because it might make you sneeze. It is intense but it is delicious. Okay, just get same amount of garlic powder to Corelle ratio. Perfect. And I'm not just going to use any old butter. I have my garlic and herb butter that I sliced up. And we are going to use our little slices. This butter is extra soft. So just keep that in mind if you end up using this. But regular butter also works for this recipe. So use whatever you like. This butter looks expansive. Yeah and we're using this whole stick. Now we're coming in with our cheeses. I have some mozzarella cheese here. Now this recipe came from Tennessee and I just had to try it. It is a side dish that you know is just going to blow your minds because it's so easy and so delicious. We're using that whole bag of our Tullamuck mozzarella. Then, we gotta do some sharp cheddar. That's a lot of onions. So, we gotta add a lot of cheese and we're going to just sprinkle the whole bag of our Tullamuck sharp cheddar right on top with that mozzarella. Make sure to get all onions coated in our cheese. Mmm this is going to be really good you guys. We're almost done. We have the butter, the onions, the seasoning. This is going to be delicious. Last but not least, I'm using some freeze-dried oregano. You can use fresh if you'd like but I am oregano enough to get fresh without it going bad. So, we are just sticking with the freeze dried and doing a light sprinkle on top of the entire dish. Just like so. And that is it you guys. Let's go ahead and take a look at that bottom of our dish. See all those delicious onions. That butter's just going to melt and caramelize them. This is going to be so good. My oven is set to 350 and we're going to bake it for 45 minutes. Oh my. Not only does this look amazing, it smells incredible, you guys. Okay, it is time to give our onion sidedish a try. Obviously, this is for the onion lovers only. So, if you don't like onions, you don't need to comment. I don't need to know because I love onions. So good with like a steak, a pot roast. I mean, whatever you want to make with this. It's going to be incredible. Is it good? That is so good, you guys. You gotta try it.
