How your shape looks is not as important as how it feels.
When you tune into the sensations you’re feeling in your workout, you can identify if your alignment is supportive or not. Here’s how you know if your shape supports your body: 1. You feel the work in the *belly* of your muscles, not in or near your joints. 2. The tension/intensity feels broad and heated but doesn’t feel pointed or sharp 3. You are able to sustain your body awareness in other parts of your body and not just the muscle group you’re working Because we all have different bone structure, finding the alignment that works for you is up to you. In Barre Eclipse, we build muscle by reaching our max out point in every workout. We use weight sets that range from 2lb - 15lb in our lower body movements and we always pick shapes that are supportive and accessible for your joints. This is especially helpful if you’re getting into strength later in life (late 30s and up - like me!). But warning: supportive does not mean EASY even though it is so accessible.
