Mod Applications
I have no choice. I must call up my old classmate and beg him to join me. He is the only person I trust enough to share in this undertaking.

Are you interested in joining the Fiddauthor Zine as a moderator?

The moderation team isn't fully formed yet, we need you to finish shaping it!

Some important clarifications;
  • All moderators must be over the age of 18.
  • Applying as a Moderator doesn't exclude you from being able to apply as a Contributor!
  • You can apply for multiple moderating roles, depending on the answers provided we'll see which one of the positions you can cover.
  • Having previous zine experience is not necessary to join, a big part of us in the mod team currently don't have experience moderating zines. So be aware this is also a learning experience for us.
  • As this is a digital zine, we won't be looking for any shipment or financial moderators.
  • This project is made without profit in mind. We are a digital free-for-all zine, so neither contributors or moderators will get any sort of compensation.
The Mod team currently consists of...
Cele
Head Mod | Main Editor and Art Mod.
Manza
Head Mod  | Main Organizational & Communications Mod.
Fig
Organizational & Communications Mod.
Ripley Layout/Formatting Mod.

What roles are we looking to cover?
Roles bring structure, and a better division of tasks to cover all the needs of the project. None of these roles are expected to be taken by only one person, you will be working on a team and we are expecting for it to be a highly collaborative experience. As an Art or Writing Mod, you will be in charge of giving guidance to contributors, managing the check-in's, making sure the guidelines are being followed, and compromising to give feedback to the submitted prompts and in-progress pieces. As a Writing Mod, you will also be expected to read through the pieces potential contributors send, participating in the selection process.

As an Editor, you will work alongside with both writing and formatting mods. An editor should make sure the content is coherent and cohesive, beta-reading through the different works and finished product to ensure a good narrative flow and use of language.
Since our theme is a scrapbook, editors will be responsible for the general "timeline" of events, which is really important for the assembling of the final product.

As a Graphics Mod, you should be able to set up a series of templates for the zine to use in promotional material. Such as headers, announcements, contributor features, etc.
Handling these graphic elements in order to give the zine a distinct, recognizable look.
A Graphics Mod can work both in the contents of the zine, or with the social media.

As a Formatting Mod, you’ll be in charge of laying out the zine, assembling it by putting together the content provided by the contributors. A format mod should have access and knowledge working with publishing software, in our case InDesign.

What's your name and pronouns?
*
In which social media can we find you?
*
Under which users? (ex. @username - twitter)
Are you age 18 or older? *
Do you have any previous Zine experience?
*
Experience is NOT necessary, but it can help a lot.
How would you describe your previous experiences?
*
Doesn't have to only be on Zines, it can be something you consider similar, or any experience which might help.
What role are you interested in? *
You can apply to multiple roles! If you apply for more than one mod role, it'll be under the discretion of the current mods to assign you to the position they see fit.

The "other" option is there for any role we haven't mentioned but you'd like for us to consider. For example discord mod, which might already be covered but depending on your answer might be given a chance.
Obligatoire
Have you previously occupied a similar role to the one/s you are choosing? *
Any relevant information about you in relation to the roles available is needed. If you've picked multiple roles, you can also clarify which ones you are mostly comfortable with. Give us a better idea of your skills!
We'd like to see some of your work!
Please leave the socials you find relevant, or any place in which we can take a better look at your work! Such as a portfolio, drive folder, and more.
*
Regardless of the position, we are going to need some way of knowing more about your skill-set.
It's not necessary for it to be about Fiddauthor or Gravity Falls, but it would help a lot if it were.

Feel free to adjunct anything you seem fit for the roles you are applying to!
And if you are sending a link to a drive folder or doc, make sure it's available for us to see.

  • For Art Mods, as well as Graphics Mods, send us some favorite pieces! 3 to 5 should suffice, you are free to send more.

  • In the case of Formatting Mods, we'd like for us to share with us some pages you've formatted in the past! If you haven't worked with a zine format in the past you can make a mock with some placeholder text and different elements. (Remember this one is formatted as a scrapbook)

  • For Writing Mods, you may include up to two works (doc or PDF), that consist of 1000 to 3000 words (You can send more, but we can't promise to read the entirety of it! If you send a bigger work, you can highlight the part you'd like us to focus on)

  • And in the case of Editors, send us some pieces of work you've helped edit or beta read. You can also send some of your own works.

Please enter the email you'd like to receive the results in! *
Acceptance/Rejection emails will be most likely sent out between the 8th and the 15th!
We are also going to be needing your discord user! *
That'd be all for now!
If you have any questions feel free to contact us on our different social media, or for a faster response ask @manzapplez via discord!
