This stunning native should be in every garden....especially if you love butterflies, bees and hummers. Liatris or blazing star is a favorite to all three of our favorites. It loves the miseries....hot, dry, and poor soil, blooms for over a month and will get three feet tall. It is unusual since the flowers bloom at the top first then mature down the stem. Plant with coneflowers, rudbeckia or nepeta for the best effect. Sanctuary Garden Design
