Boy appliqué shirt for Disney
This colorful crib quilt has it all including darling appliqués of a train, an airplane, and a train. But it also has wonderful texture. I used a piece of super soft Minky fabric on each to the large appliqué designs. Each piece on the appliqués was machine stitched using a buttonhole stitch. Each piece of the plaid border was cut separately to ensure that it is as straight as possible. The quilt was machine quilted by me using 6 different colors of thread. I completed piecing the front of the cars quilt I started earlier this week and here it is with edges all trimmed even. I get a kick out of seeing that fire chief, hands on hips, in the top section and that little fireman running with the hose in the bottom section. It reminds me of the Find Waldo pictures. The dimensions are tweaked a bit to best show off the classic car and transportation symbol fabrics, but basically the quilt is from the Check Me Out pattern by It's So Emma. I'm naming…

Racing Car Quilt, 2008. Made for my boys to race their cars around on.
Began and Finished 2018 First up is the finished Cars quilt. I put the label on Saturday, but had to wait until Brownie went to work today before I could show the final product. If you noticed the white lines before, those are velcro strips. They are for the carports (pieces of vinyl placemats covered with fabric, with the corresponding velcro on the edges).
