Ice Breaker Activity: Webbing Here's how it works: Material: Yarn 1. Teacher starts as a model. "My name is ____and I enjoy _____." 2. Wrap some of the yarn around your hand. Then unwrap enough to allow you to toss the yarn to someone you choose. 3. Toss the yarn to someone across the room and they follow your model (name and something he/she enjoys).

Might be a good way to start the year (especially if you have a lot of new students). I would allow students to pick some (3, maybe) that they are willing to have shared. Then you could use it as an ice breaker also ~ Nice prompts for back to school.
She's crafty: Get to know you games, good ice breaker for party or group gathering, modify questions to fit. Favorite summer activity, food, place you have been, hero, book, animal and why for every question.
