Billy the Kid--killed by sheriff Pat F. Garrett

Sheriff Pat F. Garrett used his Colt, a .44-calibre single-action Army revolver to shoot the notorious outlaw Billy the Kid - who was born Henry McCarty but also went by William Bonney - in the chest on July 14, 1881, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, USA. The American Wild West days' gunfighter died at the age of 21. The pistol has been auctioned in a Bonhams Friday's sale for USD$6.03 mln(SGD$8.1 mln), a world record (previously was USD$1.98 mln, set in 2002)for a firearm.
