We bought these stock cabinets from Home Depot and I totally customized them to fit our needs by adding these slide out shelves. Game changer. I started by bumping out the sides of my cabinet so that I could add some door slides to them without my shelves hitting the frame as they slid out. I got a little bit fancy with my shelves which is totally okay by routing out some one by twos and attaching them to the sides of a piece of half-inch plywood but you could also totally just cut a piece of plywood, put some edge banding on it, and call it good. Once I had my shelf built, I installed it on the door slides and it now not only adds real estate to the inside of my cabinets but also adds so much more functionality. What do you think? Would you do this?
