  • Mayor Sadiq Khan has unveiled the members of London's first-ever Nightlife Taskforce. The 11-person team includes fabric cofounder Cameron Leslie (who's chair of the group), Pxssy Palace founder Nadine Noor, Colour Factory founder Nathanael Williams, Daytimers founder Provhat Rahman, Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) CEO Michael Kill, Music Venues Trust external affairs manager Sophie Brownlee and DJ and radio host Lily London. A 12th member, FOLD cofounder Seb Glover, decided against joining "just before the group launched, due to other commitments," the Evening Standard reports. The taskforce will spend the next six months assessing the challenges and opportunities facing nightlife in the UK capital, and will provide recommendations on how to ensure the nighttime economy can thrive. Khan believes that the group's "expertise and unparalleled knowledge garnered from years of working across a range of nighttime industries" will ensure success. "The rising cost of living and operational costs, shifts in consumer behaviour, staffing shortages and licensing issues have all been hitting businesses hard," he continued. "I'm determined to do all I can to work alongside our nighttime industries." Leslie stressed that the taskforce "cannot wave a magic wand," but hopes that "we can put forward something meaningful by which all stakeholders and individuals who genuinely want to see London's vibrant nighttime economy thrive and grow can then get behind." Noor believes that "collaboration is key," and plans to "drive meaningful change that reflects the vibrancy and diversity of London's nightlife." The Nightlife Taskforce will operate in place of a night czar. Amy Lamé, London's first-ever night czar, stepped down from the position last October after eight years in the job. We'll continue to report on this story as it unfolds. Here's a list of all 11 members. • Chair: Cameron Leslie, cofounder and director, fabric. • Sophie Brownlee, external affairs manager, Music Venue Trust. • Alice Hoffmann-Fuller, consultant, former art director and head of operations, Corsica Studios. • Michael Kill, CEO, NTIA. • Lily London, DJ, radio host, promoter. • Kate Nicholls, CEO, UK Hospitality. • Nadine Noor, founder, Pxssy Palace. • Provhat Rahman, founder, Daytimers. • Sam Spencer, head of operations, Broadwick Live. • Georgina Wald, communications manager, Fuller, Smith & Turner. • Nathanael Williams, founder, Colour Factory.
