Incorrectly receiving cancelled events from organizer's calendar #22826

Issue Summary

For a particular cal.com managed event type, we have standard emails disabled, and the following two options enabled:

  • Hide calendar event details on shared calendars
  • Hide organizer's email

We do this because we handle all email sending and calendar invites to attendees ourselves, with our own sender and branding.

For most actions (booking and cancelling), the attendees correctly do not receive any calendar notifications from the organizer's calendar.

On reschedules however, from time to time, cancellation events from the former booking are still shared to the attendee's calendar

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Disable emails on managed event type, and enable both Hide calendar event details on shared calendars and Hide organizer's email
  2. Create a booking on this event type. Ensure that neither email nor calendar invite is shared with the attendee.
  3. Reschedule this booking.
  4. Occasionally, a cancelled event from organizer's calendar will still be shared with the attendee (see attached screenshot)

Actual Results

  • Attendee receives cancelled calendar event notifications from the organizer on reschedules when the following are set on a managed event type: Hide calendar event details on shared calendars and Hide organizer's email

Expected Results

  • Attendees should not receive the aforementioned calendar events.
