On my system port 8080 is already in use. It would be great if one could set the port on which the frontend is reachable through something like -p 8081.

That's the -http flag.

Unlike many projects, the Go project does not use GitHub Issues for general discussion or asking questions. GitHub Issues are used for tracking bugs and proposals only.
