Feedback

To reproduce:

  1. Define a generic_thermostat entity, and configure at least one preset
  2. In the UI, open the thermostat info and choose a preset (let's say "comfort")
  3. manually change the temperature to a new value

Expected behavior:

  1. the new temperature is set
  2. the preset changes to "none"
  3. if you select "comfort" again the temperature changes back to the preset

Actual behavior:

  1. the new temperature is set
  2. BUT the preset remains set to "comfort"
  3. if you try to select the preset "comfort" again the temperature doesn't change
  4. to select "comfort" again you have to change to a different preset first

Set-up:
Home assistant docker version 2023.10.0

Ah so this is what's happening. It's confusing as you'll see thermostats on sleep for example but set to a different temperature than the preset. I assumed it was a bug!

I'd suggest either reverting preset to none or maybe manual
