Feedback

Logging into the linked solaredge site https://monitoring.solaredge.com/ I can't find any thing titled admin or any reference to API key. Has the site changed?

Hey there @frenck, mind taking a look at this feedback as it has been labeled with an integration (solaredge) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

I suggest updating the docs to from ...

  • To integrate it, you need your installation ID and an API key.
    to
  • To integrate it, you need your site ID and an API key.

to match the config panel

And then change the steps to (note the button the screen shot below says New key but if you don't have one it may say 'Generate key'):

  • Click on Admin, then Site Access tab
  • Scroll down to API Access
  • Accept the terms and click on Generate key
  • Click on Save

If I may make a suggestion, I would specify that the mobile website does not work, even desktop mode, for retrieving the information.

I had the same issue, I contacted SolarEdge and they advised as follows: "Following recent updates the option to generate API keys has been removed for Homeowners and Installers due to security concerns, Only SolarEdge will be able to do that for now." Which they did once I gave them the requested details about my system. All worked OK when I used the provided API

Yes, the option to create your own API key has been removed by Solaredge. Very dissapointing from them. Makes them less of a "open" option to use for home assistant users. Now I need to research other options...
