Feedback

I received an email from Insteon on 2/12/2025 disclosing a new update for Hub 2 was incoming, included in it is supposed to be improved support for Home Assistant.

We’ve been hard at work making improvements to your Hub 2 and we’re ready to share those updates with you:
Added stability when using the Hub 2 as an Insteon modem with 3rd party controllers such as Home Assistant.
Fixed issues related to daylight saving time transitions.
General performance enhancements.
General stability improvements.
Device status improvements.

The update will be installed automatically. To view which version you are on, open the Director app and tap on Settings > Hub Info and under Version Info, the Hub Firmware Version should read 1020. If not, you can tap the Check for Update button to initiate the update.
In order for the Insteon Hub 2 to receive firmware updates, it must:
Have an active internet connection.
Be associated with an Insteon Hub Account*
*Hub Account Access subscription is not required.

Thank you,
The Insteon Team

Is there any information on what this update does? To be blunt, I'm still a bit burned by Insteon going belly up a few years back, and do not want to allow an update that might later force limited functionality or required paid subscription.
